Why It Makes More Sense To Buy A Genuine Diamond Necklace |

When it comes to necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelet jewelry I will only wear platinum, gold and silver metals and precious or semiprecious gemstones. Perhaps you think that makes me a snob but I beg to differ. I have some very good reasons for preferring fine jewelry over costume trinkets. Let’s use necklaces as our example here. You can purchase a white or yellow gold and diamond necklace for less than five hundred dollars if you know where to shop for one. A costume jewelry necklace only costs around twenty dollars. Hence now that the economy is struggling most women would opt for costume jewelry rather than a real diamond necklace like this one:

Actually it makes sounder economic sense to buy the diamond necklace even though it will initially cost more, and here’s why. First of all if you look after your jewelry then there is no reason why a genuine gold and diamond necklace won’t last you a lifetime. In fact chances are that you will be able to hand it down to one of your children or grandchildren when you die. By contrast costume jewelry might last about six months before it breaks, if you are lucky. Even if you only bought one item of costume jewelry every six months, the cost would eventually add up but you would not have anything to show for it. What’s more a diamond necklace can be considered an investment since the value will appreciate over time. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of costume jewelry.
